Post Mortem (Ex Machina)
For this group project, I think we had a good prototype of a game, but unfortunately we were unsuccessful in creating a fully working game in the project time limit, The game has a start , middle and has an end condition, but there is not much detail to the game.
The things that did work well though in our project was, the mini game we did have in the game, work well and was still a challenged and added to replay value to the game , even though its super basic in it current stage. Also the assets suit the game style we were going for its just a shame its not used as much as we wanted as the game is very short from the lack of game play, As well as the game had no collision issues, the character moved around the tiled map as planned.
I feel the game would of been more fleshed out if we managed to get the item and inventory system working in time before the project hand in, because then we would not of had to disable all the doors, so the player can finish the game still, as if this was not the case and we had all the doors and key cards working the length of the game would of been significantly increase and i feel it would of been more entertaining to play.
The menu system worked OK, but if I was to re-do the project again I would do the menu different , I had several bugs which stopped me from making a in-depth menu, such as buttons overlapped so if you clicked a button and on the next render scene it had a button in the same place you clicked it would automatically activate that button, Also I would of made sure to have the items system mentioned already was working correctly.
But overall , I think this project showed a potential for a good game as a proto-type and is a massive improvement in quality from the previous project.
